Terms of service
The plain-language version of what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Specific project terms (price, scope, deliverables, timeline) are agreed in writing before we start — this page covers the everyday baseline.
Who we are
Krit Studio is a small web design and hosting business operated from Kingston, Tennessee, USA. Throughout this page “we” means Krit Studio and “you” means anyone using the site, the portal, or our services.
Project work
Project price, scope, and timeline get fixed in a written quote we send before any work starts. The quote lists pages, features, what’s in, and what’s explicitly out. Once you accept it, the price doesn’t change unless you ask for something outside the agreed scope — in which case we’ll quote that as a separate small project, before doing it.
Payment
Most projects are 50% deposit to start, balance on launch. Smaller projects may be 100% on launch. Hosting bills monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days. Late invoices may pause active work.
Ownership
Once we’re paid in full for a project, you own the site outright — the design files, the source code, the content. We keep the right to mention the project publicly (in a portfolio, on social, in a case study) unless you ask us not to.
Revisions
Two formal review rounds are baked into every project price. Beyond that, additional revisions are billed at our standard rate or quoted as a small change.
Refunds
Before any work has started, your deposit is refundable in full. Once work has started, refunds are pro-rated to time invested. After launch, no refunds — you’ve got the site and the code.
Hosting
If we host your site, the monthly fee covers: server, domain pointing, SSL, basic uptime monitoring, dependency updates, and small content tweaks (text edits, image swaps, fixing typos).
It does not cover: new pages, new features, design changes, anything that’d count as a project on its own. Those get quoted separately.
Uptime
We aim for the site to be up. We don’t offer a contractual uptime SLA — we’re a small shop and our hosting providers (Cloudflare, our VPS provider) have their own SLAs we depend on. If the site goes down we’ll work to get it back up promptly.
Cancellation
You can cancel hosting any time, no penalty. Email us. We’ll prorate the current month, hand off the code and assets, and help you point your domain elsewhere. You take the site with you.
The portal
If you have a portal account, the password is yours — we don’t see it after you set it. Keep it private. If your account is compromised, email us so we can lock it down.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the portal to upload illegal content, spam other people, run security probes against us, or anything that breaks US law. We can suspend your account for any of those.
Liability
We’ll do our best work for you. We don’t warrant that the site will be free of bugs, that hosting will never go down, or that the site will produce any particular business outcome. Our total liability for any project or hosting issue is capped at the amount you paid us for the project (or the most recent 3 months of hosting, whichever is greater). We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Termination
Either of us can end the working relationship by emailing the other. We’ll give you everything we owe you (paid-for code, assets, files) and we expect you’ll settle any outstanding invoices for work delivered.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA. Any disputes get worked out in good faith first; if that fails, in courts located in Tennessee.
Changes
If we change these terms we’ll update the date at the top. Active clients get an email when the change is material. Continued use after the change date counts as acceptance.
